These pictures show the first set of launch pads at Cape Canaveral.
On the left Redstone 4 is ready for launch on Pad 4. It was launched August 18, 1954.
Launch Pads 3, 2, and 1 are seen south, as is the lighthouse. The “blockhouse” for pads 1 and 2 can be seen to the right of those two pads. The blockhouse for pads 3 and 4 was similar and would be to the right of the picture. The Bumper launches in 1950 were from pad 3, which still shows the outline shadow of the launch pedestal, similar to the Redstone pedestal.
Center shows Redstone 4 ready for erection.
Right shows Redstone 6, the 5th Redstone launch, which was launched on Nov 17, 1954.
